 St. Pete Beach
St Pete Beach is a city located on a barrier island just West of St Petersburg. At the time of its incorporation in 1957, its name was St. Petersburg Beach. However, just about everyone referred to it as 'St. Pete Beach' and, on March 9, 1994, locals voted to officially change the name to the shorter version. Property records show that about 28 percent of the total residential dwelling units in the city are owned by people claiming the primary residence elsewhere.
